Slop is basically the steepness of the line in the graph. It determines many aspects like direction of the line and its positive and negative attributes. The slop on the graph determines whether the line is negative positive or zero according to the coordination's. Mathematically the slop is calculated by the division of y axis over x axis. In other words the slop of the graph is rise over run. Rise mean the y axis of the graph and run means the x axis of the graph.

Finding a slop is not complex and it is an easy task. To find the slop of the graph we are required to select any two points on the slop. The points can be in different coordinates and it is not a problem. After selecting the points the find the difference in x axis as well as y axis. The difference can be find by subtracting one point from the other. After finding the difference the y axis is divided on the x axis and the result is your slop. The formula for the slop is given below.

m = (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

m = represent the slop of the line while x and y are the axis.

The slop can be positive, negative zero and infinity. If the line of the slop is from left to right then the slop will be negative and if from right to left then the slop can be marked as positive. The slop will be zero if the line is in the direction of the x axis while it can be infinity if the line is in y axis.
